WALLINGFORD, Conn. -- Ending a search that began last October, the Credit Union League of Connecticut said Wednesday it has hired Anthony Emerson, chief financial officer of the $175 million Maine Savings FCU, in Hampden, as its new president/CEO effective March 17.
"The league has a really outstanding staff and I look forward to further improve its service to Connecticut credit unions, helping the league CUSO grow and to strengthen legislative activities," said Emerson, adding that he got the job on his 41st birthday Feb. 7.
Emerson, who is vice president of finance, accounting and operations at Maine FCU, joined the Hampden CU in July 2003. He previously held senior management posts at Penobscot FCU in Old Town.
He has been a director of the Bangor Chapter of the Maine Credit Union League and New England Financial Executives Council. He also has been a speaker at industry groups and is the author of several published articles on member centricity and customer service profitability.
