Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union, Clinton Township, Mich., is offering six Rudolph Heino and Sallylou Cloyd scholarships to members that are high school seniors. The students chosen will each receive a $2,000 scholarship toward their education. Recipients are selected based upon credit union membership, academic achievement, community involvement, school involvement, significant contributions to family or society, and work history. Applications are available at the MSGCU Web site, www.msgcu.org, or by visiting any of the six locations. MSGCU also awarded 77 mini-grants worth more than $18,000 to help educators in Macomb and Oakland Counties with classroom projects.

Educational Community Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich., announced that it is offering 21 scholarships totaling $23,000 as part of its 2008 scholarship program. The scholarships include 19 $1,000 scholarships and two $2,000 scholarships. The scholarships are based upon academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. To qualify students must be a primary ECCU member in good standing for at least one year, a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and be accepted and enrolled in an accredited post-secondary school for the fall of 2008. Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2008 and applications can be found on the ECCU Web site, www.eccu1.org.

Andrews Federal Credit Union, Suitland, Md., announced that it will be accepting applications for its 2008 scholarship. To qualify you must be a member of Andrews FCU as of Jan. 1, 2008. Applications will be judged on academic achievement, community service involvement, an essay, and letters of recommendation. Applications are available on Andrews FCU Web site, www.andrewsfcu.org.

Firstmark Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the winners of its 5th Annual Educator's Scholarship program. Firstmark CU awarded 10 scholarships of $500 to full-time educators of kindergarten through grade 12. The scholarship program was open to both public and private school educators.

Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union, West Lafayette, Ind., announced the 2007-08 PEFCU Citizenship Award winners. Both recipients, Troy Baute, and Christine Collins are freshmen in the Undergraduate Studies Program at Purdue University. The PEFCU Citizenship Award is an annual $1,000 scholarship that recognizes outstanding academic achievement and strong community involvement of an incoming USP student.

DONATIONS

1st Pacific Credit Union, Vallejo, Calif., made a donation of school supplies to 34 classrooms at 17 schools in Vallejo and Benicia.

Gesa Credit Union, Richland, Wash, donated over $3,000 to the American Diabetes Association. The staff at all seven Gesa CU locations participated in Jeans Fridays to help raise money. The donation was made in conjunction with the associations annual Step Out to Fight Diabetes fundraiser. A team of 14 Gesa CU staff members and family members participated in the 6-mile walk. Gesa CU was a Gold Sponsor of the event that raised nearly $70,000.

St. Mary's Bank, Manchester, N.H., made a $2,000 grant to the Manchester Community Music School to help fund its financial aid program. The music school used the gift to provide financial assistance to students participating in programs such as private lessons, music therapy, New Hampshire Youth Ensembles, group classes, early childhood and summer camps.
