DUBLIN, Ireland — Afilias, an Ireland-based provider of global registry services, has joined the Anti-Phishing Working Group Steering Committee.

Afilias, which has a U.S. office near Philadelphia, provides Internet technology for such domain registries as .info, .org, .aero, .mobi and .asia and a number of country code domains such as .in (India).

“We look forward to tapping into Afilias' ability to perform deep analysis into the abuse of domain names and applaud their collaborative, pro-active, open standards approach to fighting cybercrime,” said David Jevans, chairman of the APWG, an industry association focused on fighting online crime and identity theft.
