LENEXA, Kan. — Enterprise brand protection specialist MarkMonitor has been enlisted by U.S. Central Credit Union to knock down hack attacks from the Rock Phish organization.
The anonymous group is believed to be responsible for as much as half the phishing attacks now being carried out.
The Rock Phish group first targeted $40 billion U.S. Central, the nation's only wholesale corporate credit union, in June.

"Within the first few hours of that first attack we knew we had to do something fast. We instantly realized that it was far too big a job for us to manage internally," says Jean Golka, U.S. Central's information technology risk manager.
Since then, San Francisco-based MarkMonitor has been helping U.S. Central and its 26 member corporates detect and shut down the increasingly sophisticated attacks, the company says.
