TULSA, Okla. — Hoping to be more visible to businesses interested in setting up shop on a bustling stretch of State Highway 75 here, Tulsa Federal Employees Credit Union has paid $3.38 million for 7.89 acres along one of the highway's busiest intersection.

Tulsa Federal President/CEO Phil Hart said the $400 million credit union will use two acres to sell space to businesses in the area in addition to building a 4,000-square foot branch.

Over the course of 2008, a Target and Wal-Mart are scheduled to open nearby on a 725,000-square-foot shopping area at 71st Street and Highway 75 and a 260,000-square-foot area of the Southwest Crossroads project going up at 121st and Highway 75 in Glenpool.
