DALLAS — Year-ago figures from Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union help illustrate the dramatic traction Check 21 has gained in recent months.
The Dallas-based corporate says it was providing remote deposit service to 134 credit unions and 548 branches in November 2006. Now, it's providing the same service to 331 credit unions representing 1,177 branches in 27 states.
The number of items processed also skyrocketed, from 2.5 million in November 2006 to more than 5 million now, the corporate says.

"This past year has seen an explosion of adoption," said Jody Beck, senior vice president of operations for Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union. "And the prediction for the new year is that it will be even busier."
