Open Solutions Co-Founder Cliff Waggoner died May 11 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 66. He co-founded the popular data processing firm in the credit union space, in a basement in 1992 with the idea of bringing relationship-based technology to the financial services industry.

Former New York State Credit Union League Board Chair and New York CU League Hall of Famer Ray Johnson died at the age of 84. Johnson has had a long history with the credit union movement since 1959. He was one of the founding members of Empire Corporate FCU serving as treasurer and then chairman. Right before his retirement he helped organize–and joined in– the 1991 Credit Union March on Washington.

Retired CUNA Mutual Group President/CEO Robert L. Curry, who spent his life dedicated to service, died at the age of 84 following a heart attack. He was named the company's fourth CEO in1973, succeeding Charles F. Eikel Jr., and remained in that position until he retired in October 1988.

CUNA Mutual CEO Jeff Post suffered a personal loss as his wife, Peggy, lost her long battle with cancer. Jeff described his wife as a strong, remarkable person.

Longtime leader of OnPoint Community Credit Union (formerly Portland Teachers Credit Union) Morris P. McElwee died at the age of 79 from complications from Guilan-Barr syndrome. Over his 24-year career at the credit union his contributions to its growth were extensive.

John W. "Jack" Henry, founder of technology firm Jack Henry & Associates, died of natural causes at the age of 71. He was the co-founder of the firm and acting vice chairman and senior vice president.
