MADISON, Wis. — Maureen Maddox, considered to be a veteran in the credit union industry, has been tapped to fill the Filene Research Institute's new innovation sabbatical role.
Maddox will develop and implement a comprehensive plan to launch national field projects that encourage and enable credit unions to be innovation leaders, according to Filene.
Since January 2006, she has served as vice president of debit product management and development for MasterCard Worldwide, where she developed payments products and services for issuers and consumers. She also led the development and commercialization of MasterCard's Debit Commerce Intelligence, a transaction-based analytic capability and segmentation tool designed to optimize portfolio performance.

During her career, Maddox has filled a number of executive posts with credit union organizations including CUNA Mutual Group, Summit Credit Union of Madison, Wis., CUNA and the California Credit Union League.
"We are fortunate to have an individual of Maureen's talents and experience as part of the Filene team," said Denise Gabel, chief innovation officer at Filene. "She will focus her energies on further implementation of Filene i3 ideas and assist credit unions in building a better tomorrow."
Maddox said she is looking forward to her new role.
"The credit union professionals of the Filene i3 team have developed outstanding, game-changing product constructs," Maddox said. "I'm delighted to help bring them to market in a repeatable and profitable way. Credit unions and credit union organizations that step-up as pilot participants will benefit from first-to-market position; those that launch later will benefit from their learnings. This is a wonderful opportunity to leverage credit unions' agility and member focus–characteristics that give them a true innovation edge."
