SAN ANTONIO -- Security Service Federal Credit Union has once again earned one of the, "Top Corporate Team," honors for raising over $50,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's annual Light the Night Walk.

Security Service's involvement with Light the Night, over the past five years, has garnered nearly $200,000 for the Society's mission to find a cure for blood cancers, and resulted in the credit union receiving the Corporate Platinum award, the Society's highest honor, for the past three years.

"Each year, it gets better and better and we are closer than ever to finding a cure," said Security Service FCU Senior Vice President/Leukemia and Lymphoma Society South Texas Chapter President Mike Martinez. "It's amazing to be a part of this cause and see the support and generosity of our employees and the community in helping us reach our goal."

In addition to nearly 400 employees walking on the day of the event, the Security Service Volunteer Corps helped blow up the over 5,000 illuminated balloons walkers carry to commemorate and honor survivors, supporters and others touched by blood cancer.
