DALLAS — Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union now has more than 1,000 credit union branches using its Remote Deposit Service and processed 4.4 million remote deposit items in the month of September alone.

The $13 billion corporate's remote deposit service captures the electronic image and transmits deposits in real-time to Southwest's item processing center. According to Brad Ganey, director of item processing, the individual credit union can set timing to meet its specific requirements and software installation doesn't require the CU's data processor.

According to Southwest Corporate, imaged checks are cleared in the most expeditious and least-costly method, and images are archived for online member access via TranZact, Southwest Corporate's Internet gateway.
