DES MOINES, Iowa — As Director of Credit Union Growth, Jim Niederhauser has returned to the Iowa Credit Union League to lead the combined consulting and professional development team, and facilitate the growth of Iowa's member credit unions.
In 1983, Niederhauser began working for the League, and became the product manager of consulting services. In 1994 Niederhauser was hired as CEO to lead The Principal Financial Group Employee's Credit Union, now known as Premier Credit Union.
From its inception in 1994, Niederhauser led the credit union through tremendous change for over 12 years. He has served as League Stabilization Fund Chair from 1997-2002; Iowa Council of Credit Union Executive Society Chair, 1998-2004; PolicyWorks Board of Director, 2006-2007; and Business Growth and Development Iowa League Council.

Niederhauser was awarded the prestigious Iowa Credit Union League Cooperative Spirit Award in 2000. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, School of Business.
