PORTLAND, Ore. — Postal Credit Union is the first to sign on with CU Business Group and Experion Systems to implement the Member Business Advisor, an online tool that allows credit union staff to ask the "correct" questions during an interview with their business members.

Introduced earlier this year, MBA facilitates the discussion that identifies the best package of loan, deposit and other products for business members, according to CU Business Group and Experion. The system features a "save-a-session" capability so staff or members can refer back to previous interview results, the ability to upload financial statements, tax returns, and other data for electronic transmission, along with the application and a built in "tickler" system that will e-mail follow-up reminders to staff.

Brian Sherrick, executive vice president of $452 million Postal CU, has been with CU Business Group for five years and sees MBA as "a logical extension of our relationship with them, and a solid step forward for our member business program." Sherrick said the MBA system was up and running in less than 60 days.

"That is almost unheard of in the world of software and new systems," Sherrick said. Experion houses the MBA system, which is outsourced to credit unions. According to Larry Middleman, president/CEO of CU Business Group, credit unions with established business lending programs as well as those with start-ups can use the MBA system.

Ross Blair, president/CEO, Experion, said partnering with CU Business Group was "a logical addition to [its] product line."

CU Business Group and Experion hold Webcasts on a monthly basis at www.cubg.org that provides additional information about the MBA system.
