Becoming One With Community

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Meriwest Credit Union recently named Gregory Meyer community relations manager for the credit union.
In his new position, Meyer will manage Meriwest's community development and relations activities. His responsibilities include enhancing the credit union's community presence through philanthropy, volunteerism, partnerships, and in-kind donations.
"Along with his many years of financial services, Gregory brings with him a wealth of experience in community development that will be a great addition to the Meriwest team," said Tony Cortez, vice president of marketing. "Along with expanding the Credit Union's visibility to promote membership growth, his contributions will enable Meriwest to continue improving the quality of life in the communities we serve and meeting the unique financial needs of our members."
Meyer comes to Meriwest after 17 years at Citibank where he most recently served as community relations director. While in that role, he helped foster strong relationships between the bank and local community development organizations through grants, sponsorships and volunteers. His work at Citibank also focused on developing affordable housing and financial education programs for low- and moderate-income families, and economic development opportunities for small businesses.
