FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — With an eye toward gaining wider exposure on public TV, the credit union consortium putting on the “JA's BizKid$” broadcasts have set a January timetable for debut airing, the new chairman of the Washington Credit Union League said today.

“We found out that we can get maximum coverage with more stations signed up if we wait until January,” said Elliot Gregg, the league head who also is president of Kitsap Community Credit Union, Bremerton, Wash..

Like others in leadership of the league, Gregg said he remains heartily enthused about the “content and the production quality of the shows” giving CUs outstanding national exposure when they finally air on some 100 Public Broadcasting System stations across the U.S.

The shows, he said, “will have all the pop and fizzle” CU benefactors have expected, said Gregg who witnessed clips of the proposed shows and heard speeches by PBS producers during the league's annual conference last week in Spokane.

Since last year the Washington League joined by the National Credit Union Foundation along with state foundations and individual CUs have been the chief cheerleaders and financial sponsor for “JA's BizKid$” in a co-op hookup with Junior Achievement Worldwide.
