PORTLAND, Ore. — Celebrating its fifth anniversary in August, CU Business Group has surpassed the $800 million mark in loan packages reviewed.
CU Business Group said it is currently working with more than 240 credit unions and 11 corporate credit unions in 31 states. Founded in August 2002, the CUSO started with just three employees and now has 15. The three original staffers still with CU Business Group are Larry Robbins, chief credit officer; Brian Rose, loan servicing manager; and President/CEO Larry Middleman.
"One of CU Business Group's largest success factors is its continuity of staff," Middleman said. "We are very fortunate to have excellent staff with minimal turnover. All our key people have stayed with us because they truly like their work, and enjoy helping credit unions."

According to Rose, CU Business Group's power of aggregation also makes their operations much larger than seemingly show on the surface.
"In terms of volume, CU Business Group is equivalent to a $5 billion commercial bank," Rose said. "When you pool our credit unions together, they create substantial volume pricing, which, in turn, credit unions ultimately benefit from."
