OMNI Community Credit Union, Battle Creek, Mich., recently announced that board member Roger Davis has received the Credit Union Leadership Award and the Dora Maxwell Award. These awards were presented to Davis for successfully completing 42 Volunteer Achievement Program Home Study Education Modules, as well as a module focused on leadership. Also receiving an award is Frederick Myles. Myles received the Desjardins Award for successfully completing 30 Volunteer Achievement Program Home Study Education Modules. The awards were presented by the Michigan Credit Union League and the Credit Union National Association.
Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, recently announced that Barbara Covarrubias, marketing and media development coordinator, received the "Strong in Community" award from the YMCA of San Antonio. The honor was given to Covarrubias for her years of dedication to helping the organization raise scholarship money for families and children who could not otherwise afford to participate in YMCA programs. Covarrubias serves on the Braundera YMCA executive board and also serves as a volunteer volleyball coach for the organization.

Rogue Federal Credit Union, Medford, Ore., honored four employees with special service awards at the credit union's annual awards banquet. These awards are bestowed on individuals exemplifying credit union philosophy, which includes not only their involvement in credit union activities, but also the community, the overall success of the credit union, total quality member service and meeting or exceeding employment expectations. The Rookie of the Year was awarded to Richard Knight, home loan center manager. Dawn Wolfe, consumer loan manager, was this year's recipient of the Internal Quality Service Award for providing outstanding quality service to fellow employees. The External Service Award was given to Debbie Miller for her outstanding sales and relationship building with the membership and employees. President/CEO Gene Pelham presented Susan Bartels, member relations representative, with the President's Award for her exemplifying philosophy, member service and contributing to the success of RFCU.
