SAN ANTONIO — To mark its 75th Anniversary, Firstmark Credit Union commissioned two local San Antonio artists to create a mural for its new Bandera Road branch.
Local artists Conni Brenner and Wendy Carter of Artvarks, Studios Inc. of Bulverde, Texas created the 4' x 12″ acrylic mural reflecting the credit union's San Antonio roots and its commitment to education and family.
The painting depicts Mission San Jose as it was in the 1930s with a woman and child in the forefront, invoking a sense of family and learning. Native Texas trees, shrubs, plants, and wild flowers are prominently featured and add color to the mural.
