BALTIMORE — With this year’s theme being “Journey of Hope: Destination of Dreams,” the African-American Credit Union Coalition kicked off its ninth annual conference here today.

Among the highlights of the conference, which will run through Aug. 11 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel, will be presenting the Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement awards to NCUA Regional III Director Alonzo Swann and Tawanna James, NCUA’s director of the Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives during a dinner ceremony on Aug. 10.
