CHICAGO — The $4.5 billion Alliant Credit Union, formerly the United Airlines Employees Credit Union, has moved its 46,000 credit card accounts from Fidelity National Information Services to PSCU Financial Services.
Alliant has 209,000 members and is the eighth largest CU in the nation.
"From a corporate perspective, we are partnering with PSCU Financial Services because they offer the professionalism, innovation and commitment to help us create a best-in-class credit program," said Alliant CU CEO David Mooney, adding, "We are also enthusiastic about the similarities in our cultures and objectives: we are both member-owned cooperatives that are dedicated to serving credit union members and driving growth in the credit union industry."

As part of its decision making process, CU executives toured PSCU Financial Services Contact Center and headquarters in St. Petersburg, Fla., PSCU said.
"We look forward to working with Alliant's enthusiastic team to build a credit program with distinctive service advantages for their members and their credit union. A conversion of this size highlights the advantages offered by our professional and experienced staff, who worked diligently to ensure a trouble-free conversion," said David Serlo, president and CEO of PSCU Financial Services.
Alliant's move pushes PSCU to having signed more than 1.1 million new credit and debit card accounts to date in 2006, according to PSCU. Serlo credits the CUSO's new pricing structures and a change in attitude among credit unions for PSCU's steadily growing popularity.
"I think as a CUSO we are very well positioned to work with credit unions," Serlo said. "We are linked in attitude and in philosophy in a way that a for-profit company will not be and that makes a difference."
"People have long been noting that the credit union industry stands at a turning point, a juncture if you will," Serlo added, "at such a time it makes a lot of sense for credit unions to consider carefully who their partners are."
