WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Truliant Federal Credit Union Board has appointed Lafayette Jones to serve as a member for the remainder of the current term that was recently vacated.

Jones will also stand as an incumbent for the 2008 election.

Serving as an associate director since 2003 Jones is no stranger to credit union. He also served on the Victory Masonic Mutual Credit Union's Board of Directors for 13 years in various positions including Chairman and was instrumental in bringing about a merger with Truliant.

Jones is the president/CEO of Segmented Marketing Services Inc., a national marketing, sampling and publishing firm and serves as publisher of Urban Call.

He helped found the Goler Community Development Corporation, which is active in revitalizing Winston-Salem's downtown. He also serves as a vice chairman of the Winston Salem Downtown Partnership Board. He holds a degree in Art-History and Government from Fisk University and attended the Summer Executive Program at Stanford University. He frequently addresses conferences and business schools on multicultural marketing.
