TAMPA, Fla. — Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union has once again helped out area children through its Suncoast for Kids Foundation.

Designed to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in its communities, the foundation has awarded more than $1,989,000 in scholarships and grants to further education in the lives of children since 1992.

The Guadalupe Center of Immokalee's "Home Grown Challenge" capital campaign will receive $10,000 as part of the Suncoast Schools FCU Book Lending Project and the Braille Institute of Florida in Lee County will receive $10,995 to purchase a high volume embosser to transcribe textbooks for blind children. In addition, Suncoast for Kids Foundation has awarded $1,000 scholarships to a graduate from every public high school in each of the 15 counties it serves.

Each time a nomember uses a Suncoast ATM the entire surcharge benefits the Foundation. When members use the Suncoast check card in a signature transaction five cents is donated from the merchants fees.
