BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — Affinity Federal Credit Union has elected Michael T. Kzirian board chairman and two board directors John M. Gumersell and Irena Kaler.

Kzirian has been a member of the board for eight years and most recently served as vice chair.

During his tenure, he has participated on and chaired a variety of board committees, including strategic initiatives; liaison to Affinity Financial Services, LLC; CEO objectives; nominating; and governance committees.

Kzirian received the designation of Certified Credit Union Director by CUES. Since his retirement from AT&T where he was the telemarketing sales vice president for consumer and small business, he has formed his own call center consulting company.

Kzirian also serves on multiple community boards and is active in his church.

Gumersell is an incumbent, who joined the board of directors in May, 2006. He has served on the supervisory and CEO objectives committees. Prior to his retirement from Lucent Technologies, he was president of the consumer products division. Currently, he provides consulting services to small and mid-sized companies. He is a member of the Rutgers University Dean's Advisory Board and is a trustee and treasurer of Cancer Hope Network.

Kaler is director of legal and risk services for Saint Clare's Health System in Morris County, NJ, where she has been employed for more than 20 years. She has been a volunteer in the credit union movement since 1991, leading the 1994 merger of the former Saint Clare's Employee FCU with AFCU, and since the merger has served as Saint Clare's liaison to AFCU. Kaler was formerly an AFCU board member from 2002 to 2004 and participated on the governance and CEO compensation committees at that time.
