TEMPLE, Ariz. — Harry Mateer has been promoted to president/CEO of Altier Credit Union.
Mateer, who previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at the $193 million credit union, succeeds Rita Albertson, who recently retired after 17 years at the helm. In his new role, Mateer will manage the strategic direction of the organization and oversee all departments and branches. Mateer came to Altier in 2001 after serving as first vice president for Bank Hapolim in New York.
Patricia Morcom, chairman of Altier's board of directors, said the credit union conducted a nationwide search and several "strong" candidates were considered. In the end, Mateer's "strong financial skills and strategic vision made this a decision that we are confident and excited about," she said.
