COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — Scott Credit Union is hitting the road with the new Money Zone ATM trailer.

The custom-built ATM trailer, which was built by Schantz & Sons, has a vending door that opens to give those who need cash access to the ATM

"Plus, when the trailer is open for business, it features a flat panel television that allows us to promote the value of credit union membership to people who are interested in our services," said Scott CU Vice President of Marketing Adam Koishor. "We are excited about having the Money Zone ATM. We have had it at a couple of events and it was very well received. It really makes it easy for people to get money when they need it and we aren't charging any surcharge even when non-members use this ATM."

The idea for the mobile ATM was conceived by former Scott Credit Union President Jim Bright, who died unexpectedly in 2005.

"Jim came up with the idea of having an ATM and we're excited to see it become reality," said Scott Credit Union President Frank Padak. "Jim had the idea of using our Hummer to pull a trailer with an ATM to community events. He had a vision and now we are seeing it in action. We are extremely happy with it. We are able to be at community events and give everyone access to money when they need it."

The Money Zone ATM trailer, which was in use recently at the Scott Air Force Base Air Show, is a completely self contained trailer built on a hydraulic frame that allows the entire unit to be lowered to the ground when it is set up at an event.

"We can set it up anywhere and use the generator to power the ATM, the air conditioner and all of the security lighting," he said. "Lowering the trailer to the ground really adds an extra layer of security and allows the trailer to look like a small building. It looks great and provides a needed service at community events."

Wrapped in graphics that promote Scott CU's convenient, free access to 32,000 ATMs nationwide through the Allpoint ATM network, the Money Zone helps further the credit union's brand in the community.

"The trailer is black and has graphic flames to match our Hummer promotional vehicle," Koishor said. "It also promotes the value of being a member and having accounts with Scott Credit Union. We hope that non-members will see our ATM trailer, read about the value of membership with us, and then will visit one of our locations or our web site at www.scu.org to become a member."
