LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. — With MoneyPerks it pays to be a Michigan First Credit Union member.
Developed to reward members, the new loyalty program gives members a point–called a MoneyPerk–for every dollar that they pay in interest on loans as well dividends earned on savings, and for using online services.
"The MoneyPerks program was designed to reward our members for doing their banking at Michigan First," said Michigan First President/CEO Michael Poulos. "They can waive almost any fee, get loan rate discounts, and bonuses on certificate rates by redeeming their MoneyPerks."

Although launched earlier this year, members were granted MoneyPerks for business they had done throughout 2006.
"It is a great way to start a program, where the member has already earned points for business they had done in the recent past rather than starting from scratch," said Michigan First Vice President Marketing/Public Relations Sandra Tomlin. "Our members felt the value of the program from the beginning, and we have had 4,952 members redeem MoneyPerks points since the program began in January."
The program boasts Real Rewards and Real Value, with an easy way to check the MoneyPerks balance by either logging onto the credit union's MoneyWorks Home Banking or looking at the monthly statement. To redeem MoneyPerks points members can either call or stop by their local branch.
