ARLINGTON, Va. — Suzanne Cowan, director of the Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions, has been appointed to serve on the NASCUS Board of Directors, NASCUS Chairman Linda Jekel (Wash.) announced last week.
Cowan will fill the unexpired one-year term of Ken Roberts (Ohio) who resigned from the board earlier this year due to changes at the agency. She has also been nominated, along with Jekel and Tom Candon (Vt.), to a full three-year term that would begin August 2007. NASCUS regulators will vote to approve the nominations prior to the NASCUS Annual Meeting on Aug. 10 during the NASCUS State System Summit in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., August 9-11, 2007.
"I am delighted to be appointed to the NASCUS Board," Cowan said. "My background is an interesting combination of long experience running a credit union and a relatively recent transition to the regulatory side. I intend to use this appointment to learn all I can from my fellow board members and I hope I can be helpful to them, as well."
