SAN FRANCISCO — A growing number of small business owners are showing consumers they care about the environment by going green.

A recent Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index reveals that two-thirds of small business owners surveyed say they would be willing to pay more for goods and services to run their business if they knew they were environmentally friendly.

While a large number of small business owners say they're willing to pay more for environmentally-friendly goods and services, the jury is out on whether their customers would be as agreeable in sharing the added costs. Some 43% of all small business owners surveyed believe their customers would be willing to pay more for environmentally-friendly goods and services, while 49% did not think their customers would be willing to pay more.
