WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Community participation in the 1st Annual Brees Dream Foundation Golf Outing held at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette has exceeded expectations of The Brees Dream Foundation and Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union.
"I am proud to be a part of this great community," said Drew Brees, NFL Saints quarterback and PEFCU spokesperson. "The level of participation in this year's event shows our collective commitment to enhancing the lives of our youth here in Lafayette."
Over 200 golfers, celebrities and public spectators participated in the event, which was followed by a cocktail reception where unique sports memorabilia were auctioned off with Brees serving as auctioneer. The event concluded with a presentation of $25,000 checks to each of this year's beneficiaries–Purdue University's National Youth Sports Program and Riley Hospital for Children through the Credit Unions for Kids Program.

This year children from YMCA, YWCA, Boys and Girls Club, and the local Kids Konnected organization participated in a special bowling tournament with Brees. He signed autographs, posed for photos, and bowled a few frames with each group. To wrap up the event, PEFCU awarded two children from each group with a new bicycle.
Brees also made a special appearance at the National Youth Sports Program camp being held at Purdue. The children were greeted by Brees at the Shively Club at Ross-Ade Stadium and listened to him speak about the importance of attitude and commitment. PEFCU also awarded four bicycles to children with perfect attendance at camp for five consecutive days.
"Drew is more than a spokesperson for PEFCU," said Bill Connors,
