Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Ent locations served complimentary cookies and distributed random transaction giveaways to members during service center hours of operation to mark the occasion. Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera read the city and state proclamations designating March 7, 2007 "Ent Federal Credit Union Day."

Horizon Credit Union, Spokane Valley, Wash., recently celebrated 60 years of member service. Horizon started in 1947 as Trentwood Employees Federal Credit Union in a small guard shack at Kaiser Aluminum's Trentwood plant. From these humble beginnings, they have grown to serve a large diverse membership with many financial products. Through mergers and charter expansions, Horizon has grown to offer their membership an extensive regional network of convenient locations. Horizon CU has over 35,000 members, $333 million in assets and 18 branches across the Pacific Northwest.

Mortgage Center, the Southfield, Mich.-based mortgage service CUSO, marked a significant milestone recently when the company's servicing portfolio reached $1 billion. The company says the achievement is a result of building a 17 year reputation for excellent service. The loan that nudged the company's portfolio above the $1 billion mark was closed by Jeff Wentland, a first-time homebuyer and member of Credit Union Advantage, Southfield, Mich. To celebrate, Mortgage Center's CEO Dave Toepp presented Wentland with a Home Depot gift card worth $200. Mortgage Center was established in 1990 when five credit unions recognized the need for a cost-effective way to service members' mortgages. Today the company serves more than 70 Michigan credit nions ranging in asset size from $4.4 million to $786 million.
