ATLANTA — For those members looking to become independent, small business owners, the launch of Delta Community Credit Union's business services lineup seemed fitting two days before Independence Day.
Members of the $2.2 billion credit union will now have access to business loans, deposit services, payroll services and merchant services. On July 2, the lineup made its debut at Delta Community CU's newly-opened branch in Peachtree City. Services will be rolled out at subsequent branches going forward, said Mary Olson, vice president of marketing.
In addition to numerous requests from members over the years to offer business loans and deposit services, the credit union did its own research and found that there were at least a couple thousand members who, based on the increase in the number of transactions they had done per month, might be operating small businesses, according to Todd Marksberry, executive vice president/chief operations officer.
