PORTLAND, Ore. — As U.S. Central Credit Union phases out its core processing services, Northwest Corporate Federal Credit Union has committed to going directly onto a Symitar Episys platform.
The Portland-based corporate has been processing on Episys through U.S. Central, but had to begin to look elsewhere when the wholesale corporate announced last summer it would phase out the service it was offering to 18 corporates by 2009.
Northwest Corporate, which serves about 200 credit unions, joins another U.S. Central client, Wisconsin-based Corporate Central, in announcing a move to Symitar so far this year.

"We hope that the other corporate credit unions evaluating a data processing alternative to the Episys-based service bureau that U.S. Central provided will select us to support their near- and long-term technology requirements," says Kathy Hooker Burress, president of Symitar, which now serves more than 600 credit unions.
