AUSTIN, Texas — United Heritage Credit Union is showing members it pays to have a checking account.
The credit union has recently rolled out Heritage Checking, a free checking account that offers 6.01% annual percentage yield and free ATMs nationwide with no receipts required.
To enjoy the checking rewards, members simply have to sign up for free eStatements, complete 10 Visa debit card transactions and one direct deposit or auto debit ACH each cycle.

To get members buzzing about the new account, United Heritage created a
special Web site, www.heritagechecking.com, where the Austin market can access account information.
"We've seen a great response from this account in the short time we've had it available," said Jenny Laudadio, marketing director for United Heritage. "The newspaper, radio and online ads we've started running have really gotten people's attention so we are expecting great things from Heritage Checking."
