Downey Federal Credit Union, Downey, Calif., and Golden Star Technology, Brea, Calif., donated two scanners to the library at Griffiths Middle School to benefit students. Stephen Monteros, general manager of GST facilitated the donation.

Mid-Cities Schools Credit Union, Compton, Calif., recently contributed 83 new books and a literacy-themed art print to the new library at Kentwood Elementary School in Westchester, California. The donation was part of MCSCU's community involvement program. MCSCU has a special interest in supporting reading skills, not just for children but also for adults, according to the school-based CU.

Oklahoma City Area Credit Unions, Oklahoma City, recently donated $127,900 to the Oklahoma City chapter of Children's Miracle Network. Area credit unions host a variety of fundraisers each year in order to raise donations and awareness for Children's Miracle Network and the more than 17 million children treated each year at Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The Oklahoma committee was first formed in 1998 and has made $161,740 in the past nine years.
