"If You're There, We're There," is what Credit Union Times declared on the front page of its May 30 issue. It said it "prides itself on being where credit union leaders are."

Given this philosophy, it is particularly distressing to us that Credit Union Times has not found the resources or summoned the interest to cover on-site the last two annual conferences of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions, the premier event for the leaders of credit unions serving low-income communities.

At a time when the credit union movement is striving vigorously to demonstrate its commitment to serving "people of modest means," it is puzzling that our national events would merit such limited coverage from one of the leading credit union publications.
