ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland has announced that registration is open for the July 16 Outreach Task Force Town Hall meeting in Los Angeles.

NCUA hosted two Task Force meetings in April in Cincinnati and Boston. "The first two meetings were very productive because the credit union community came and shared their voice with the Task Force, and I look forward to another successful meeting in Los Angeles," Hyland said. "Since the Task Force has yet to make any decisions regarding the issues under consideration, the discussions held during the meetings are very crucial to the deliberations of the Task Force."

The next meeting is slated for June 6 in New Orleans in conjunction with the National Federation of Community Development Credit Union's annual conference. They are designed to encourage participation and discussion within the credit union community. Separate tables are set up for specific topics of discussion then the ideas are shared with the entire audience for further discussion. Topics range from NCUA programs and processes to encourage outreach to underserved communities; value of low-income designation; data collection on member income; and data collection on executive compensation.
