LAS VEGAS — The National Credit Union Foundation will hold a special "Thought Leader" session entitled Untapped: Creating Value in Underserved Markets during CUNA's America's Credit Union Conference and Expo.

The June 5 session, led by author of the book by the same name, John Weiser, promises to reveal opportunities to attract new members and new revenue from underserved markets that will benefit both credit unions and their communities. It will also help launch NCUF's new educational program, the Social Impact Management Institute.

"Institutions who partner with and serve underserved communities can reap long-term benefits," Weiser observes. "Credit unions are uniquely positioned to benefit from the emergence and growth of underserved markets."

Weiser will also be discussing social impact management at NCUF's Credit Union Development Education (DE) Workshop at Caesar's Palace June 5-7. The workshop is open to all alumni of NCUF's DE Training program.

NCUF, in partnership with CUNA, will co-host a "Party with a Purpose" from 7-10 p.m. on June 5 at the Pure nightclub, a celebrity hotspot overlooking the Las Vegas strip from the terrace of Caesar's Palace. The organizations have arranged to waive the $30 cover charge, but attendees will be encouraged to make voluntary donations to credit union programs.
