PHOENIX — Desert Schools Federal Credit Union's wholly-owned subsidiary Desert Schools Financial Services is hoping to give engaged couples a little peace of mind.

The CUSO is now offering a Wedding Protector Plan for couples looking to say, "I do".

According to the Travelers Indemnity Company, which underwrites the policy, today's weddings having an average price tag of $27,000. Yet, it's all too common to lose a high-dollar deposit when a bridal dress shop suddenly closes or bad weather causes the wedding to be postponed.

The Wedding Protector Plan offers a variety of coverages such as: cancellation or postponement; additional expenses; lost deposits; photos and video; gifts and special attire.

"Our goal is to give people advice for life by offering services that are competitively priced and personalized to meet immediate and long-range goals," said Desert Schools Financial Services President/CEO Becky Nilsen, who also noted that one does not need to be a member of the credit union to receive a free, professional consultation from a seasoned insurance representative.
