DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa officials are hoping a new group will help attract and retain young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 to the state.
The goals of the Generation Iowa Commission will include creating best practices guidelines for businesses looking to hire young adults, advising and assisting the Department of Economic Development to create programs and activities designed to retain and attract young adults to Iowa, and submission of a report to the Iowa's legislature that outlines the problem and provides solutions.
The commission, established in House File 617, will be comprised of 15 members from all walks of life: rural, urban, men, women, minorities, and from private, public, and nonprofit sectors of employment.
