WASHINGTON -- The Maryland & District of Columbia Credit Union Association recently announced that Jennifer Porter Gore has joined its team as vice president of federal and D.C. governmental affairs.
Gore had served as CUNA's manager of public and congressional affairs from 1998-2002. After that she joined the Democratic staff of the House Financial Services Committee as press secretary until 2005.
"Jennifer Gore brings to us a deep connectivity to Congress as well to the CUNA system which will allow MDDCCUA to assume an even more substantive role in the national efforts to protect and improve the credit union charter," MDDCCUA CEO Mike Beall said in the league's newsletter. "Jennifer starts with a deep understanding of credit union issues and will make a great fit with Maureen McAtee in our government relations arena."
Gore holds a master's degree in communications from American University and a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University.
She starts work in MDDCCUA's Washington, D.C. office May 29, replacing Greg Saphier who left to work for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and Brian Tate who has gone to work for CUNA.
