WASHINGTON — Former Ways & Means Committee Chairman Bill Thomas, who instigated reports on credit unions service to those of modest means, has joined the legal and government relations firm of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC.
The group announced that Thomas would serve as its senior advisor to its Federal Government Relations Section. Thomas spent 24 years on the powerful Ways & Means Committee with his last six as chairman. He retired from Congress at the end of last year.
Alex M. Brill, a Thomas staffer, will also join the firm as an economic policy advisor. He served as senior advisor to the chairman and chief economist for the committee under Thomas for five years.
