WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Passageways' annual users conference attracted more than 90 representatives from client credit unions and banks, the CUSO says.

The Passageways Portal PowWOW was held in hometown West Lafayette on April 11-13 and was highlighted by awards presented to credit unions for best practices using the company's platform.

The winners were $685 million Kitsap CU of Bremerton, Wash., for an invoice processing module, $1 billion Sandia Laboratory FCU of Albuquerque, N.M., for a referral tracker module, $803 million Educators CU of Racine, Wis., for branding and corporate identity, $394 million Great Lakes CU of North Chicago, Ill., for an expense reporting module, and First Independent Bank of Nevada for a "no more e-mail" module.

Keynote speakers were the CUNA Technology Council chair and vice chair, respectively: Brian Warfel, senior vice president of sales and service at $483 million Power Financial CU in Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Gail Koehler, vice president of technology and retail delivery for $503 million Purdue Employees FCU in West Lafayette.

The conference also saw the launch of the company's newest product, the e-Forms Builder Module, developed over seven months with the cooperation of 17 Passageways customers. The module allows users to design electronic forms and import existing forms into an e-forms library for centralized management.

Passageways was established in January 2003 as a CUSO of Purdue Employees FCU. Co-founders Christopher Beltran and Paroon Chadha were graduate students at the Indiana school. The company now has more than 90 customers and is working on the next generation of its portal solution, which Beltran says is code-named Nambe.
