ARLINGTON, Va. — Defense Under Secretary for Personnel and Readiness David Chu will keynote NAFCU's Defense Credit Union Summit in conjunction with its 40th Annual Conference in Honolulu this summer.
Chu will discuss the Department of Defense's new proposed regulation capping interest rates charged to servicemembers that was published for comment April 11.
Additionally, Deputy Under Secretary for Military Community and Family Policy Leslye Arsht will address an educational breakout session July 19 during the Annual Conference.

Chu is the secretary of defense's senior policy adviser on recruitment, career development, pay and benefits, and oversight of military readiness. He also oversees the Defense Health Program, Defense Commissaries and Exchanges, the Defense Education Activity and the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute.
Arsht is responsible for policy, advocacy and oversight for all community support to servicemembers and their families, including: quality of life issues; state liaison initiatives; the Morale, Welfare and Recreation program, among other duties.
