COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Independent Group Credit Union and Air Academy Federal Credit Union have merged.

"This partnership combines the resources of two great organizations, offering an expanded selection of products and services, as well as more branch and ATM locations," said AAFCU President/CEO Glenn Strebe.

IGCU was chartered in 1950 as Interstate Gas Credit Union by employees of Colorado Interstate Gas. At the end of March 2007, the credit union totaled 1,300 members.

AAFCU has served members worldwide for over 50 years. AAFCU's membership has grown to include the military, 10 area school districts and over 100 select employee groups.

AAFCU has over $300 million in assets and serves more than 45,000 members.
