ALEXANDRIA, Va. — As part of Financial Literacy Month, NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson visited Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Va, yesterday to emphasize the importance of financial education and present the President's Volunteer Service Award to volunteers at the student-run credit union.

Johnson, a former teacher, shared the essentials of financial education a class from the high school's business department. She also demonstrated the www.mymoney.gov Web site while the students worked with the Web site at their own computer terminals.

"The sooner America's youth receive the tools and resources of financial education, the better decisions they will make the rest of their lives," Johnson said.
