LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Gwinnett Federal Credit Union has recently reached a milestone–lending over $1 million to Georgians with disabilities.
In April 2005, teaming up with the GettingAhead Association, Gwinnett Federal launched the Credit-Able loan program to provide those with disabilities access to affordable financial services to purchase assistive technology. The purpose of the program is to enable Georgians with disabilities to participate more fully in the workforce and community.
Members who qualify to apply for this program include individuals with disabilities, their family members or legal guardians. Employers who wish to modify their worksite to accommodate an employee with a disability are also eligible. The individual or business must demonstrate that they are creditworthy and have the ability to repay the loan.
