TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. — Tinker Federal Credit Union has deployed the Skip-A-Pay product from Wescom Resources Group as an online offering to the big Oklahoma credit union's 183,000 members.

The $1.5 billion CU had been offering the service through a program that required manual processing. The WRG solution provides an interface that allows members to schedule payment skips online at www.tinkerfcu.org and the credit union to define eligibility by such factors as loan type, member and time of year (summer vacation season, for example.)

Other key features include automatic advancement of loan payment due date, real-time processing of the Skip-A-Pay fee, and Internet or intranet availability, according to WRG, the tech CUSO of California-based Wescom Credit Union.

The new system paid for itself in user fees the first month of rollout, the credit union says.

"WRG's solution automated this program and brought it straight to our members, giving them control over skipping their payments by offering the option through our home banking application. Our response rates are up, and our hands-on processing has been drastically reduced," says Nancy Entz, Tinker FCU's assistant vice president of marketing.
