MnCUN staffers gave short presentations on the credit union structure, Minnesota's credit union landscape, political involvement, the World Council of Credit Unions, and provided banking and credit union statistics. The discussion was highly interactive, with IVLP participants asking questions and sharing experiences.

"The participants were impressively knowledgeable and had a strong grasp of the banking industry and financial concepts," said Mark Cummins, MnCUN president/CEO. "I am glad we were able to meet with these individuals and aid in their understanding of the credit union movement."

The visitors were in the United States for some three weeks and visited four other cities, spending five days in Minnesota.

While in St. Paul, participants focused on financial institutions and urban development, visiting with MnCUN, the Minnesota Department of Finance, the Neighborhood Development Center, the Department of Employment & Economic Development, and the African Development Center.

The IVLP is a national initiative facilitated in Minnesota by the Minnesota International Center. Visitors are invited to meet with their professional counterparts and experience American culture.
