Access to affordable health care insurance is reaching a crisis level in Connecticut. According to a recent survey by Connecticut Office of Healthcare Access, more than 400,000 Connecticut residents, many of them individuals and employees of small businesses, have no health insurance. Statewide, businesses, insurers, legislators and citizens are working together to generate solutions designed to make health insurance more affordable and accessible to Connecticut residents, employers and their employees.
According to Bruce J. Fafard, vice president of sales and service at Connex Credit Union, partnering with Credit Union Members Health Plan on behalf of its members is one way that Connex is helping bring health care coverage within reach of as many as possible, particularly those who might otherwise go without.
