OGDEN, Utah — Thanks to Goldenwest Credit Union, Bonneville High School students and teachers will have their own credit union branch on campus.
Bonneville High School Principal Leslie Meyer invited Goldenwest CU to open an in-school branch to increase awareness and help students with the financial challenges facing them today.
"The school's curriculum includes teaching our students about personal financial management," says Meyer. "With a credit union branch inside the school, our students have the unique opportunity to go beyond the classroom and learn hands-on practical money management skills in a professional setting.

As part of the business class, students operating the branch participated in a Goldenwest teller-training program. In addition to training and support, the credit union has equipped the branch with a teller station, two desks, two computers, and other branch furniture.
Bonneville HS currently has more than 1,300 students enrolled, with 75 full- and part-time faculty members. The Bonneville Branch is available to serve students, teachers, faculty, and patrons of the school. The branch is located near the school's cafeteria, and will be open during the school's lunch hours offering products such as savings accounts, checking accounts, and small loans for students.
"Goldenwest has always maintained a high level of commitment to financial education for our youth," said Goldenwest CU President/CEO Shelley Clarke. "We are thrilled to play a role in helping Bonneville students participate in life-serving lessons about financial management."
