ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA recently announced that registration has opened for its Access Across America Summit scheduled for March 6 at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel in Tampa, Fla. To register for the free, one-day summit, credit unions should use the NCUA Web site (http://www.ncua.gov) or contact Nina Bullard at (703) 518-6318. The summit promises hands-on, “tools you can use” education for credit union management, staff and board volunteers. Key topics discussed will include payday lending alternatives; participating in the IRS' Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program; and check cashing and other services. Invited presenters include REAL Solutions Program Director Lois Kitsch of the National Credit Union Foundation, IRS representatives, the Florida Credit Union League and other speakers.
